About
GitHub Release Watch follows public repositories and alerts you when a new release or tag appears: competitor moves, dependency updates. The first run records a baseline without alerts; every new version becomes an event.
Data source: the public GitHub API — no key needed. Keep GitHub's 60 requests/hour unauthenticated limit in mind for large lists: schedule checks less often.

FAQ
Do I need a GitHub key?
No, the public API works without one. Unauthenticated limit is 60 requests/hour — with up to ~30 repos and hourly-or-slower checks it is fine.
What does an event contain?
The new tag or release name, e.g. "v1.2.0 -> v1.3.0". The first run per repo only records the current version.
Private repositories?
No, only public GitHub API data.
Free vs Pro?
The limit (30 vs 3000 repos) and Pro features: schedule, Telegram alerts, charts, XLSX/JSON. One key works on 3 computers.
Installation & uninstall
Free version
- Download the app with the «Download free» button above and unpack the zip.
- Run GitHubReleaseWatch.exe — no installation needed.
- Works right away: add a repository (owner/name) and run the first check.
Pro version
- After payment you get a license key.
- Click "Activate Pro" in the app and paste the key - Pro unlocks on up to 3 Windows computers for 12 months.
Uninstall
- Delete the app folder - no traces left in the system.
Desktop apps leave no traces: delete the folder and it is gone.
